WE ARE HIRING FOR THE 2025 SEASON!

We are Milkweed Farm -  a small, queer and trans-led farm in Westminster West, now in our 9th season. We raise a diversity of organic vegetables and a few specialty crops (shiitake mushrooms, ginger, garlic braids and asian pears) on about 1.5 acres using low and no-till organic methods. We are passionate about feeding our community, and grow a lot of food in a small space without the use of a large tractor. We primarily grow for our 125-member CSA, with weekly pickups in Brattleboro and on the farm, as well as for our farm store which opened last year.

Farming is hard work and we are dedicated to creating a work environment that is positive, safe, and fulfilling. We value hard work, critical thinking, willingness to take responsibility, flexibility, maintaining a good sense of humor and a positive outlook (most of the time!). Come join us and bask in the beauty of being a part of feeding your community!

Our ideal field crew member:

- Is excited about working on a small diversified vegetable farm where you get to participate in all aspects of no-till vegetable production (seeding, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, washing, pruning, thinning, cleaning, mowing, raking...)

- Has experience working on vegetable farms and familiarity with organic principles

- Is in good physical and emotional condition: loves physical labor and working outside and is not phased by working outdoors in wind, rain, heat, cold, etc.

- Is able to work collaboratively as a team or solo for long periods of time.

- Has an open mind, is queer or queer-friendly,

- Has skills in carpentry/building or is willing/eager to learn

- Is comfortable lifting 50lbs and other heavy things, doing the occasional gross thing, and working on ladders

- Does not mind repetitive tasks (like picking peas or beans for several hours at a time).

- Has reliable transportation and a commitment to showing up to work on time.
